Team Tubey - Day 4

Day 3: Knitting Olympics

Things are going pretty well during Day 4 of the Knitting Olympics. Progress is swift and I'm starting to really like the color of the yarn.

Here's my concern: it seems as if the back is going to end up slightly longer than the front of sweater simply due to boobage. Has this been an issue for anyone?

Go Team Tubey!

It looks good! I'm actually having the same problem, though. My back is *considerably* longer, and I think it may have something to do with the fact that I made the cross-back width of the shrug smaller than the pattern called for.

I'm pretty sure I remember someone posting something about using short rows in order to make the length of the front and the back more even, but I don't remember where I saw it (or how to do short rows, unfortunately.)

Sorry, got almost no boobs, so can't sympathize, but I'd do short rows as well as that seems to help in other ribbed sweaters.

Boobage has never been an issue for me. In any way.

You are making some major progress!

Wow, my lack of boobage is now affecting others... Sorry!! Hope it works out!

Love the color by the way.

Hi Mac. Short rows can definitely help. I'll probably be using them myself. You may want to check out:
which deals specifically with short rows for bust shaping.

I had the same problem, but I have that with EVERYTHING I wear. Damned D-cup tits. (Anyone want a cup size boost? I'll send them on to you!) I just live with it.

I tried short rows when I was designing a halter last summer, but I'm really not sure it made any kind of difference with mine, and it wasn't worth the extra work if I still had the same problem.

What yarn are you using? The color is very similar to mine. I'm using Elann Sierra Aran. Nice color choice! Go team Tubey!

It's Knitpicks Yarn of the Andes in Blueberry. So probably not entirely dissimilar!

Well, I don't have much boobage and my back is considerably longer than the front too.... so it's not entirely due to large boobs.

I had another thought: it's likely that the front of the tube top section is sitting higher on your body than the back. The top of the back will fall at the bottom of the shrug, while the top of the front will fall from the highest point of attachment on the front of the shrug.

And that is a GREAT color. Let us know how Wool of the Andes wears and feels on. It's always much softer than I remember.
