Butterfingers

Last week I finished up the back/arms, today I spilled diet dr.pepper on them as I was about to start the bottom. So it's in the washer, and I'm really hoping it can be washed out.

Nice color! Sorry to hear about the spill, but I'm sure pop will come out in the wash.

Is the body going to be the same color?

D'oh! I'll bet it'll come out. If not (and if you're feeling insanely geeky and bold), you could do that nifty thing where you snip one stitch above the stain, unravel that row, snip one stitch below the stain, unravel that row (so you've cut out the stained middle section), grab the live stitches on the bottom section and reknit the section that had the stain, and then graft it back to the top section.

It's looking great, though. I love the color and the texture looks really soft and organic.

WOW, Jess, good comments, I myself am a diet coke spiller, so I totally sympathize!!

Yeah, I was diet coke crack baby, and have spilled more than my share too. :) My favorite spill was on a (shared) keyboard at work. It was definitely in need of a cleaning, though! Diet pop doesn't tend to be as damaging as regular. You should see what regular coke does to a circuit board!

I've never spilled on something I knitted myself, although my cat once very sweetly leaned over the side of my bed and coughed up a hairball into my knitting bag. It landed on my swatches, which needed to be washed anyway, but that was not a pleasant way to be woken up at 3am!

p.s. dancingbarefoot: thank you so much for saying "pop". I am lost in a sea of soda-sayers. I will usually just ask for a specific kind, so I don't have to say it!

So the verdict is diet dr.pepper can be completly washed out! (Thanks goodness, I wasn't feeling too bold with the snipping and unraveling instructions, but good advice none the less)

I'm using Zara extrafine merino in an oatmeal colour. No stripes for me, since I'm using yarn from my stash.
